Every year, the sisters of Alpha Chi Omega work hard to better our community.  We support our national philanthropy the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation which works to eliminate domestic violence.  Through this cause we have become closely associated with two groups, the YWCA and the Wesley House.

The sisters of Alpha Chi Omega have had the opportunity to work directly with two different philanthropies this year.  They started off the new school year in true volunteer spirit with a week of service with their national philanthropy, the YWCA.  The week consisted of hands on work where the ladies got to complete an extreme head-to-toe makeover of one of the YWCA’s bathrooms. The ladies have also spent time volunteering at the Wesley House, playing and visiting with participating children.

To help raise money for these two wonderful groups, Alpha Chi Omega holds two main philanthropy events, Dessert Fest in the fall and Paintblast in the spring.

Dessert Fest
The work for the YWCA was also continued the football weekend against the South Carolina Gamecocks, as the ladies hosted a philanthropy event called Dessert Fest.  The giant bake sale was a great success as the sisters and the alumni sold homemade sweets to raise money for the YWCA.

Paintblast
This spring has been an exciting one for the sisters as well with the kick off of the first annual Paintblast tournament.  It was a great day of fun for all of the participating Greek chapters, as they fought for the ultimate victory.  All the money that was raised from the tournament was allocated to the Wesley House, a local community center focused on aiding children and families in need.

Other Philanthropies
Alpha Chi ladies love to help with our fraternity and sorority events.  Every year, our women participate in several events such as Pi Kappa Phi’s Volleyball Tournament, Alpha Gamma Rho’s Water Wars, Pi Kappa Alpha’s Pike’s Peak, Delta Gamma’s Anchor Splash, and more.  We also participate in campus-wide events such as Dance Marathon, Relay for Life, Take Back the Night March, Relay Against Racism and Habitat for Humanity.

The sisters are grateful for the opportunity of service and are looking forward to another great year of philanthropy work.
