House history

The collegians and alumnae of the Delta Pi chapter of Alpha Chi Omega are working with the National Housing Corporation (NHC) to create an optimal housing experience for our chapter. The housing initiative has spanned many years and culminated in the establishment of the University of Tennessee Morgan Hill Sorority Village.

Alpha Chi Omega is extremely excited to have a future home for our chapter members in this village. The house will be a 14,000 square foot facility housing 52 Delta Pi collegiate members, with common area space to accommodate all chapter meetings and events.

The opportunity for the women of the Delta Pi Chapter to live and grow in a residential home on UT campus has been a dream for decades. This house will not only provide a home away from home for our women, but also allow them to develop life skills such as responsibility, respect and leadership. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Delta Pi alumnae, collegians, the NHC and the architectural firms of Duane Stone & Associates Inc. and Weeks, Ambrose, McDonald Inc. the NHC will soon begin building the Delta Pi chapter dream home.

The Delta Pi chapter wants to thank the University of Tennessee administration, our National Housing Corporation and all the dedicated alumnae and collegians who are working to make the Morgan Hill Sorority Village the future location of our new home!

Location

The site for the Sorority Village, Morgan Hill, is located at the far West end of campus between Neyland Drive and Kingston Pike. The sorority village will begin with the land site development, followed by the construction of each Panhellenic group’s facility. Alpha Chi Omega is aiming to begin construction on its house in 2010. We hope to move into the house in fall 2011 if all of the following conditions are met:

  • The estimated costs for construction are equivalent to the costs projected following the university budgeting guidelines
  • The projected capital campaign goals for donations established by the Delta Pi Fundraising Committee are met
  • All construction deadlines are met
